My mother said you took no medication through a very long labor--I'm impressed! (But not surprised!)

I also heard you were having trouble with breastfeeding. I know how hard that can be. I'm so glad to hear about Gwen's weight gain! It sounds like you've figured things out. Plus, the advice you've received has been good. I think it's comforting to hear that you're not alone in the situation. I didn't want to "bother" the doctor and after Eddie showed weight gain the first 2 days home, didn't go back until his one month appointment, even though we were concerned about his weight. He was not back to birth weight. I felt awful. But, through trial and tribulation, we figured out what works for us. The good news for you is, the earlier you catch the problem, the better. Also, I never produced enough milk to squirt, so it sounds like your supply is good. Even with my problems, I have given Eddie mostly breastmilk for over 6 months now, with a lot of pumping and now a good bit of nursing, too. So, I'm sure Gwen and you will soon figure out what works for you and be very successful. If you have any questions, I'm happy to let you know what I've learned--I've read a lot of advice on the matter. dawnnolan97@hotmail.com

I was very lucky to have a supportive pediatrician (his wife had bf problems with their forth child--otherwise I don't think he would have been--men don't seem to understand), but there's only so much you can learn in the small amount of time you see the doctor.

Anyway, it seems I'm late, as usual, to help with bf, but I wanted to let you know I've been thinking about you and your family and wish you the best.

Dawn NolanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
