Out with the old

Gwen still has been able to wear one thing since she was born. I think she is about to grow out of it, what do you think? Here is a blast from the past, to compare and so you can see how much Gwen has grown. I certainly can't believe it.

I have uploaded a couple videos for your perusal. Oh, I forgot to mention in the last post I am down 0.2, not much but at least it is a minus!

The many faces of bathtime

So I know that we have a lot of bath time pictures, but when she is so cute we can't help it. Plus, aren't we going to need embarrassing naked pictures for when she starts dating? These pictures were taken this weekend. Today she had a great time in the bath, she was splishing and splashing, but Eric has class, so we have no pictures or video.

Snow day

Sunday we had lots of snow! Ok, maybe only 6in, but when they predict 1-2 and you get 6, that is lots of snow. Here are Gwen and Eric watching me play! Gwen making her first snow angel.

See that big mound of snow in front of me, that is the bottom of a snow man! The snow was finally good enough for me to attempt my first snow man! YEA!
Ok, so maybe I don't exactly know how to make the snow balls round, and Eric was no help, he did the bottom "ball".

Since our snowman wasn't perfect we improvised with the objects to make him look real!

I put Gwen down for a nap after the snowman extravaganza and we looked out the window and one of our neighbors across the street was making a snowman, whose picture will not be posted because it so puts ours to shame! Eric and I were mesmerized watching this couple make the snowman, instead of taking a much needed nap we watched them put the snowman together. They had already made the balls, so we didn't learn how to do that, but now I totally know how to make sure it wouldn't fall! Eric knocked ours down because we didn't want to be sued by the neighbors when it fell down.

Ash Wednesday

I took Gwen to services for Ash Wednesday. She sat in my lap chomping on her teether and making noises. During the songs it was apparently cute, but during the homily and consecration, wasn't so cute, as evidenced by the lady in front of me turning around and staring at me every time she made a peep. Anyhoo, Gwen's first ashes.

When I pulled out the camera this day, Gwen turned to me a smiled, highly unusual. So, I had to take a picture. You can see her here playing with her swat at the fishes in the water toy. I am afraid to put it on the hardwood floor, so she is only allowed to play with it on the carpet.

More posted to follow. I have pictures uploaded but no comments yet written. I have a deadline for my work project and have had places to go in the evening so I haven't had time to post. Hopefully, I will be able to finish the next 2 posts tomorrow. Thanks for your patience!

Random thoughts

I have some random thoughts and tidbits to put in my post tonight, while I wait for Eric and dinner. Today was a good day. Weighed in and I am down 2.2lbs (I forgot to mention last week that I was up 0.6lbs). So, that was a nice start to the day, sadly because of Presidents' day they didn't have the library thing, so we had to come home. Today I realized two things, the first, being that Gwen wants people food. She wants to eat my banana, she doesn't like the taste, ok, I don't know that she doesn't like the taste, she just makes these horrible faces that make me assume that she doesn't like the taste. But she will take some banana from me, she has NO interest in the food that I am not eating and trying to give her. So, how do I get her to eat the other food, she is not ready to eat real food off the table, she hasn't gotten that chewing thing down. I am going to have to think about this for a while, if you have any ideas, let me know! The second thing that came to me today is that one of my friends was kind enough to give Gwen a present for Christmas, this present growls, so what do I do growl when it growls, because it makes Gwen giggle. As you Moms out there know, when you found something that makes your little one laugh, you do it over and over again, 'til you find the next thing that makes them laugh. So, I realized today that this growling could be why Gwen growls in public, I am not saying that is the cause, I am just saying it is a curious coincidence!

Promised pictures

Here are some pictures from Sunday. Eric and I were finishing up our taxes when Gwen woke up from her nap. We brought her down to the basement, a rare treat for her. Here are some of the photos we took.

As you can see she has really come a long way in the standing department. You will see that better is some of the following pictures.

I know you are like, why do I want to see this picture? I just thought it was a good picture to show off how much hair she has. It looks like she is going to maintain the poop brown color of hair, that I have. Sorry about that Gwen!
Some fun pictures with Dad!

More pictures of Gwen standing. This toy is supposed to have little balls that go around and you are supposed to watch it. We pulled out one ball for her to watch, she was a little slow finding it, but seemed to enjoy standing their banging the toy. Unfortunately, or fortunately, it is not a very heavy toy, so she can't use it to maintain her balance when she gets SUPER excited.

I posted 3 more videos, one from the first crawling day, when she wanted to demonstrate that she didn't have to learn how to crawl, she could get where she wanted to go by rolling. The 2 other videos are from our visit to Riley, where you can really she her inchworm potential. In 'Inchworm1' she is actually trying to come at me because she wants to touch the camera!

So, we have not been really busy, but it is hard to post when Eric is home! We have taken lots of pictures and video to post, but unfortunately Eric is doing homework, on the laptop. I am currently using my work laptop hopefully I will free up some time to do some uploading in the next couple of days. We have some great videos of the inchworm, or as Brian has called her a '80s breakdancer! When you see today's video you will see what I mean.
Gwen and I were finally able to get back to our routine. We were able to go back to our Stroller Strides and today we were able to go visit Miss Riley (& Reyna, Brian, Cloe, & Misty) Miss Reyna got Riley & Gwen matching outfits and Brian took some pictures, that I am posting. Gwen seemed to have a good time she LOVED Chloe, again, grabbed him and he didn't snap at her, at one point she was playing on the floor, Reyna and I were looking at pictures and we found her eating Chloe's foot, oops! We had a nice time. Hard to believe that Riley is already 2 months.

Piano helper

The last couple of times I have tried to play the piano, Gwen has started to cry. I don't know what her problem was, is she being too sensitive about the noise? So, I decided to let her sit in my lap while I played. She didn't cry and banged on the piano and even tried to help turn the pages.

I forgot to mention the cutest thing from yesterday, when I took Gwen outside for the pictures, she was so cute, just before we went inside it started to sleet again and she instinctively stuck out her tongue. So cute!

Today I started to separate out the laundry, and so I had to keep the little one occupied, so remembered her fascination with the phone (such a girl, no joke the other day I was talking on the phone, she was sitting in my lap and put it on mute, I kept talking, didn't notice for several minutes, I am embarrassed to say), so anyway, I put the phone just out of reach and went back to sorting laundry, next thing I know I hear the phone buttons being pushed, so I ran downstairs got the camera and took the 2 short videos you can see in her videos. Let me know if you think she is making progress.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello all! Hope you have a great V'day. Here the weather is terrible, but that only means that Eric didn't have class last night or tonight and has had 'liberal leave' from work. Being the workaholic that he is, he went into work, but he says it will be only for a short time. We had snow all day yesterday which at some point over night it turned to sleet/freezing rain. It is still sleeting on & off, but I still took Gwen outside to get her picture made in the snow pile her Daddy made from shoveling the driveway. Without further ado, here are some pictures of Gwen to brighten your V'day. Also, I am in the process of uploading banshee girl video of Gwen in her jumper, squealing, 'cause that is what she does. As you can see she wasn't too happy to be outside today, but that was because a nap was needed, apparently a short nap, but a nap nonetheless!
