Fridge Farm

Here are the last pictures from the backlog. Gwen playing with her fridge farm.

Here is a video of Gwen and the fridge farm.

Since we have taken the video and the pictures she now removes the fridge farm from the fridge and walks around the house with it like it is a briefcase. She is such a nut.
On the camera front, I had a very productive day yesterday and made several appointmets, finally got Gwen's bill taken care of, and got my new battery ordered for the camera...which means hopefully we will be taking pictures around her again after the battery arrives Friday! YAY!

Backlog

I am sorry about the silence around here, we have not been incredibly busy, but we still have no working camera. So, I am posting pictures from I guess 10 days ago.
Gwen loves to walk around the house carrying stuff. She loves carrying her dogs by their ears.
Grandmom and Gwen and the doggie.
These are pictures of Gwen in her cottage.

Her cottage has an secret exit out the chimney.

Gwen is starting to play with her toys more and not needing me to entertain her. YAY! Things are quieting down from the party and Gwen's first birthday. I am still having issues with Gwen eating, she just likes a couple of foods and flatly refuses to try something she doesn't like. Yesterday she took a 3.5 hour nap and today it looks like she might do the same. The only problem is that she gets up at about 2:30 which means she should go down earlier than I could get her down last night. We had a friend in from CA and we went to dinner. I would like the 3.5 hr 1 nap, but it is going to change our schedule. It sounds like Gwen is up, only a 2.5 hour nap. Now is time for me to try and get her lunch.

The favors

Here are a picture of the party favors, by special request. I made those chocolate lollipops. The godmother, grandmom, father and I wrapped them up the night before the party.
Here are the cookies, each got a different assortment of colors.
Inside the box. I know, the most exciting picture!

I have finished with Harry Potter, life can return to normal...or at least what we know as normal.

The spots

Gwen is having a rough time with her immunizations this time through. She now has the chicken pox spots. Poor kid. She didn't sleep well last night, I can only hope this is not a new trend and this relates to the immunizations and not some other problem.
Oh, and my Harry Potter book arrived. So, it might be awhile before I update!

Dancing fiend

Our kid is turing into quite the dancing chic. I am sitting in the living room with her while music is playing in the kitchen, she goes to the dining room and start dancing. Why she has to go into the dining room, I don't know, I guess she needs to be closer to the music. She also goes up to her fridge farm, she has figured out how to make that make music and she keep pressing the button to get jamming. I think Eric might have gotten a video when I can get the battery charged we will post it. The camera is still on the fritz, if you turn it off, it won't turn back on. GRRRR!
Here are the awaited slide shows of Gwen and the cake!

Feeling better

Miss Gwen appears to be feeling better this morning. I think she was starting to feel better last night. She was starting to play by herself and she was dancing. Now when she hears music she can't but help do a little dancing. So hilarious. Miss Gwen also slept until 10am! I would have been very, very excited if the dealership hadn't called at 8:15 and not to tell me that my car was ready, but to tell me that I needed more work done. I listened to him patiently and explained to him that they would not be doing any work for me except the recall work. Hopefully today when she takes her nap I will finally be able to post the pictures of Gwen eating her cake! I know that you would like to hear all about that! Have a great Friday!

103

Gwen had her immunizations 7 days ago, and yesterday she developed a fever, it peaked at 103. Apparently that is common with MMR and chicken pox vaccines, does that make me feel any better? Nope, mostly cause I can't handle her whininess. I don't think I like the whininess, Eric tells me it should remind me of our life with Gwen in the beginning when she won't let us put her down and would cry all the time. I explained to him that is all fine and dandy, but now she weighs more! A lot more. For goodness sake the child has tripled her birth weight! I put her down for 2 naps. Some times she is cool, acting normal, but then for no reason she just starts whining! UGH! Now her temperature is around 100, so it is just a waiting game. I am also without a car, we took my car in last night to get the recall taken care of, they didn't tell me it would take 5-6 uninterrupted hours of work, um thanks for that information appointment guy! Glad when I called you could take time to let me know I would be without a car until tomorrow afternoon. GREAT! Eric has class tonight and Terry already went back to NM, so, it is pretty quiet around here. Have a great evening!

Desperation

So this afternoon, in desperation I put Gwen in her crib with one of her new dogs. I was so exhausted and trying to stay awake but I thought, if I could get a short nap that would be safer than falling asleep on her. She cried for a couple minutes and then conked out for 2.5 hours and then tonight I put her in her crib awake, still no crying, has that been the secret that I have been missing? Gwen needs something to sleep with, that she loves like a stuffed toy? But now have I started a trend that could put me in a home...making sure we always have the dog? I guess that is not so bad, but maybe I should have checked to see how much space it was going to take in a suitcase first? I shouldn't get so excited, these things that help Gwen sleep only work for a couple days before they flake out. Eric says maybe she hasn't spent the whole time sleeping, maybe she spent some time wake just hanging with the puppy, I don't care she was quiet and I got a nap, she probably would have slept longer, but I opened her door so she wouldn't sleep through dinner, I hope she is not getting sick.

Miscellaneous picture fest

Random pictures from the party...

My camera is on the fritz so I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked!

The ham

The party was a success, at least the people I invited were nice enough to tell me that they had a good time, whether that is true or not, I might never know, but I hope they aren't just nice and they had a good time! So, this series of pictures is the daughter of the woman that made the cake. I just think it is funny! Maybe not the most flattering pictures, but you can tell she is ham for the camera!

This last picture shows KT on the floor, she has been having nap issues and as you can tell is beat, and if you look closely you will see the birthday girl stealing her cracker!
Little KT is 15 months. That kid of ours is something else, she tried to steal someone else's sippy cup (although it does look the same as hers).

The cake!

Since I know this is the most important part of the party, I thought I would post the pictures of the cake. Sometime, probably Monday I will get to posting about the party. I think it was a success; no one went home crying, so that is good, yes? Have a great weekend!

Famous Amos

Gwen received a present the other day, and I couldn't open it fast enough. So thanks Famous Amos! We hope to see you next month!
I think she is checking to see if she can make a break for a different room with the box.
Trying to lift the box, seriously she is trying to lift the box.

What's in here? Mom move this card or let me in the box!
Finally the box is open!
At this point I put down the camera, so many twist ties, so few hands, and a very impatient girl meant that I had more important things to do. Daddy enjoyed playing with it to. Oh and Grandmom confirms that Gwen does sound like she is saying Dog.
On a side note, Gwen seems to be big pals with Grandmom, they played this morning and I didn't even have to be in the room, Gwen did come to check on me after about 15 minutes or so, but she was content to go back and play with Grandmom after a little prodding from me. I hope this means she is slightly less nervous with strangers, but I imagine when you wake up in the morning and a "stranger" is in your house and Mom & Dad think it is ok, it might be easier to adjust.

Downloaded pics

So, I scanned in the pictures from the other day...isn't our toddler sweet. Which is your favorite?

Dr. appt

Here are the vital stats:
Weight: 21 lbs 1 oz 70%
Height: 29.5 in 40-50%
In case you are curious that is 1.1 lbs and 2 inches since our last visit in April. Gwen appears to be right on schedule developmentally, so that is good news. Nothing else to report at this point.

Birthday photos

I think a good time was had by all yesterday evening, Gwen and godfather Eric seemed to enjoy the cake and dinner. I say cake first, 'cause who are we kidding Gwen loved the cake...Eric had a nice sized chunk also. Here are the birthday buddies.

I didn't have a 30 candle, so I made it out of candles.
Here are some slide shows of Gwen and Eric and the cake...cause really that is all you want to see, isn't it?

After cake, Gwen opened her presents...with my help. We didn't bother cleaning her first. She seemed to not care.

Then we went put the sugar high, over tired birthday girl to bed! Grandma arrives tonight after Gwen is asleep, I hope, and then the fun begins!
